- Cultural Reaction to evil (such as school shootings.)
- Evil people do evil things, and then sit in judgment.
- The culture wants to dethrone God, then wonders why He allows these horrific acts to happen.
- God often turns the unrepentant over to their desires as a form of judgment.
- Curses follow the people doing what's right in their own eyes.
- People choose evil, so they get evil. The only way to change that is through repentance.
- What it means to be salt and light.
- The Light is the Gospel. To be light is to proclaim the Gospel.
- Also in Light is to live out our Biblical values.
- Jesus didn't command us to be salt and light, he told us we are salt and light (Matthew 5:13-14)
- Salt was the primary preservative before the invention of refrigeration.
- Do/Should Christians have rights?
- As a reaction to the most recent shooting (which inspired the first topic,) there are people saying we should be laying down all of our rights for the sake of “the vulnerable.”
- Those advocating such nonsense have no regard for scriptural context.
- We must consider our ability to defend those who depend on us.
- We are free to lay down our rights if we so choose, but there is nothing requiring us to do so.
- Our rights protect us against the abuses of government.
