Stand to Reason is a Christian ministry that has, for over 16 years, focussed on training Christians to be "ambassadors" for Christ in light of 2 Corinthians 5:20, by helping them to develop the qualities of Knowledge, Wisdom, and Character. Stand to Reason's Greg Koukl joins me this month to discuss his new book Tactics: A Game Plan for Discussing Your Christian Convictions, which focuses on the second quality: Wisdom. We discuss how to converse with non-Christians in a way that gets them thinking about Christianity without being argumentative, confrontational, or offensive. The majority of our conversation is about what Greg calls "The Columbo tactic." For more info and links, see https://www.echozoe.com/archives/2335

Twin City Fellowship's Associate Pastor Ryan Habbena returns this month for a discussion on "The Means of Grace." The basis for the discussion is Acts 2:42 - "They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." (NASB)
This month I am joined by Patrick Szalapski of ShareYourFaith.org to discuss seven essential doctrines of the Christian Faith: the authority of the Bible, the Triune God, the incarnation, the atonement, the resurrection, salvation & condemnation, and the church. This episode is a condensed version of an 8-week course that Patrick has taught several times to different church groups, and is essentially a primer on systematic theology. A popular teaching in Evangelical Christianity says that God has a plan (or a will) for us in our individual lives. Some say the level of detail of that plan is limited to major decisions in life such as who to marry, what career to pursue, where to go to college, etc. Others believe that even the minor decisions are planned out by God, such as: what kind of tooth paste to buy, what route to take to work, or how to style your hair. However, most agree that we as Christians need to seek Gods will in that plan, and can hear God speak to us in this regard by way of inner promptings, subjective signs, having a peace about a decision, or other subjective means. Pastors DeWaay and Gilley disagree with this "Popular View" (as Pastor Gilley calls it). After holding a conference about the importance of the Reformation doctrine of Sola Scriptura, I had the privilege of sitting down with them to discuss the topic. We talked about where the view stems from, why they disagree with it, and what the scriptural arguments are for both sides of the view. Back in September, Justin Peters was in town to do a seminar on the Word of Faith movement. While he was in town, I had the privilege to sit down with him and talk about his ministry and his seminars. This episode is, in essence, a summary of many of the major points that he discusses in his seminar. Some of the Word of Faith teachers that we discussed include: Benny Hinn, Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Creflo Dollar, Jesse Duplantis, and Todd Bentley. We discussed the origins of Word of Faith movement, heresies taught by the movement, and many of the things that go on at their "revival meetings."
Sam Madrid, my guest for the previous episode, returns for the second episode in a two-part series to discuss Theophostic Prayer Ministry from the point of view of a former auditor for Scientology. He claims that the similarities between Scientology and Theophostics are astonishing, and both are very dangerous. We are joined also by Rick Galarneau, who presents the unscriptural nature of Theophostics.
Pastor Ryan Habbena of Twin City Fellowship church in St. Louis Park, Minnesota holds to the Pre-Wrath view of rapture. In this episode, he explains this view, and compares it to the pre-tribulation view that has been popularised by the best-selling "Left Behind" series of novels. As a Pre-Tribber, I also present Ryan with questions to better understand his view.
In this episode, I interview Mark Huffman of International Messengers. Mark is a full-time missionary from central Minnesota working in Odessa, Ukraine; a major port city of Ukraine located on the north shore of the Black Sea.
In this episode, I interview Bob DeWaay, pastor of Twin City Fellowship Church in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Bob and I discuss Open Theism, as well as the Doctrine of Election.
