I just got an idea, and made a quick decision. While I have been posting Oswald Chambers' “My Utmost for His Highest” five days a week, I am going to make a change. Beginning next week, instead of “My Utmost…”, I am going to start posting “Morning” and “Evening” devotionals by Charles Spurgeon. I have never read Spurgeon before, and this will give me a reason to start. I'll also be sharing it with you guys too.
One reason for the change, though not the main reason, is that I never asked for or got permission from the Copyright holder of “My Utmost” to post their daily devotional. Spurgeon is old enough that it is public domain.
I hope those of you reading for “My Utmost” will enjoy reading Spurgeon along with me.

What Spurgeon died?!? 😉
Spurgeon is a harder read, because of the age of the work. But definently worth digging into. I tried a couple times to “dumb it down” and update the language, but everytime I tried that seemed to take away much of the beauty.
The one I just posted for Feb.2 is the first one I’ve read. I think you’re right. What a sad commentary on the state of modern education. Reading comprehension skills are atrocious these days, mine included!
